Here are three handy storage tips for keeping some items in the kitchen fresh
1. Berries or grapes
Wash berries or grapes only when you’re ready to eat them – extra moisture in the fridge will only promote early mould growth. And only hull your strawberries after you have washed them.
2. Lemons
Freezing lemon halves, rather than putting them in the fridge, prevents them from shrinking.
3. Herbs
Soak in water in the sink to remove all dirt before you want to use them. Drain and dry. Then place in a glass or jar with water in the fridge, cover with a plastic bag. For herbs like mint, wrap in paper towel and keep in the crisper. Herbs can also be chopped and frozen with a little water in ice cube trays.
