The series
Over eight episodes, Lyndey Milan explores the Counties of Ireland. She gets under the rolling green skin of the country to reveal the unexpected, meeting extraordinary characters that will take her to places she would never have known but for them, and of course… tasting and cooking incredible dishes that reveal the extraordinary and surprising depth of delicious Irish produce and food. And as much as Ireland is about food, it is also about the people who make that food. Lyndey celebrates Irish culture with larger than life characters who take her by the hand, sweeping her around corners, up alleys and lanes, and into little known corners of the country to discover their rich and deep seated passions.
The presenter
Lyndey Milan, one of Australia’s most recognised food, wine and lifestyle personalities, has a media career spanning 30 years that covers most Australian television networks and radio stations. She co-presented Flame Production’s eight episode television series, Lyndey & Blair’s Taste of Greece, Lyndey & Herbie’s Moveable Feast and Lyndey’s Cracking Christmas which have been screened locally and internationally. She appears weekly on Mornings on the Nine Network and was previously co–host of Fresh for over eight years. Lyndey contributes to Selector, a quarterly magazine for food and wine enthusiasts after ten years at ACP including as Food Director of The Australian Women’s Weekly. She has also published eight best-selling books, including, most recently, Lyndey & Blair’s Taste of Greece. A skilled mc and presenter, Lyndey is in demand hosting and appearing at food and wine events and classes. As well as her RAS of NSW commitments, she is an Ambassador for Australia Day and Breast Cancer Network Australia and co-Founder and Patron of Tasting Success, a mentoring program for female chefs.
The food
Contrary to the popular stereotype, Lyndey shows that there is more to Irish food than the potato, as she unearths a bounty of fabulous local produce and traditional recipes. No experience is left behind as Lyndey combines the very best moments and tastes to create dishes that will capture the essence of each region by delicious mouthful, and with every morsel comes a story of the culture, a memory of the people and a love for the sights, sounds and taste of Ireland!
The regions
During her roadtrip Lyndey will visit Waterford and the south-east, Cork and the south-west, Galway and The Burran, The Connemara, Belfast and Dublin.
