Regular readers know I love travelling, eating different food, drinking different wines and meeting different people. You may follow me on Facebook Lyndey Milan OAM  and have seen photos of my recent trip to Italy, UK and China. A lot of my recent trip was work but sometimes work is pure pleasure.

I was lucky enough to be a guest again on the iconic BBC1 TV Show Saturday Kitchen which attracts well over 2 million viewers per show in the UK! This time the Hairy Bikers, David Myers and Si King, took charge of Saturday Kitchen and had a blast. The show is very professionally produced as it is live to air for 1 1/2 hours! I went in on the Friday to go through my recipe of Pork steaks with stinging nettle sauce, quick pickle, asparagus and broadbean salad which I first created in the Margaret River in episode 13 of my award-winning show Taste of Australia. If you missed the series which just won Best Food TV in the World, you can buy the DVD or the accompanying cookbook at Flame Distribution.

The fact that we were all wearing red was pure co-incidence! Elaine Paige, Si King, me, Dave Myers, Sabrina Ghayour

This is when I first met Si and Dave who are loads of fun yet absolute gentlemen and professionals. Next morning was a 5.45 am start, for hair and make-up before a run-through of the show before a live cross to the news at 9.45am and then the show, live from 10 to 11.30am. The great thing was we got to know one another really well and we were joined in the kitchen by the queen of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine Sabrina Ghayour.  There is always a celebrity non-chef guest too who arrives just for the live show and I was thrilled that this week it was the first lady of British musical theatre, Elaine Paige. She had to tackle the famous heaven or hell challenge. Would it be her idea of food heaven, a Thai massaman prawn curry with Jersey Royal potatoes? Or a gamey food nightmare, spatchcocked duck with posh peas and celeriac chips?

You’ll have to watch the show which we are lucky enough to have screening on LifeStyle FOOD. See below for times it will be airing this weekend!

Saturday, 11 June: 9:00am on LifeStyle FOOD
